All previously described species in these genera are redescribed; descriptions are augmented by color images of the holotype for each species. The following 11 species are described as new: <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Oberthuerella cyclopia</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Oberthuerella eschara</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Oberthuerella kibalensis</named-content></italic> van Noort & Buffington; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Oberthuerella pardolatus</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Oberthuerella sharkeyi</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Oberthuerella simba</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Tessmannella copelandi</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Tessmannella kiplingi</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Tessmannella roberti</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Xenocynips rhothion</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort; and <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Xenocynips ronquisti</named-content></italic> Buffington & van Noort. We provide identification keys to the genera and species occurring in the Afrotropical region.
